STF arrests another accused in UKSSSC exam paper leak case

The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a retired assistant establishment officer (AEO) of Pantnagar University, Dinesh Chandra Joshi on Thursday in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) exam paper leak case.

The senior superintendent of police (SSP) of STF, Ajai Singh informed that the accused is a Haldwani resident who had worked in the examination cell from the year 2006 to 2016.  Due to the university’s examination and printing work, he was associated with the people of the printing press RIMS Lucknow for years where UKSSSC’s examination papers get printed. As per the investigation, the accused received these papers through his association with these people in the printing press to sell it to students in and around Haldwani for Rs 80 lakh before the exam, said the SSP. According to him, the accused was arrested on Thursday after an interrogation and on the basis of the available evidence and witnesses. He said that the accused is being interrogated and more arrests are expected in the next few days. The STF has arrested 23 accused so far for their alleged involvement in the case. The STF team is also carrying out the investigation in several other locations to connect all the dots of this investigation, as per the SSP. 

In another development, the STF has filed a case against the discrepancies found in the investigation of the Secretariat Guard Examination case which was conducted by UKSSSC in September 2021. The STF SSP said that a case has been filed under several relevant sections on Thursday in the Raipur police station and its investigation has been handed over to the STF by the Police Headquarters with immediate effect, added Singh.
