Haridwar police have sent a team to Uttar Pradesh to search for a couple allegedly involved in the murder of a woman, whose body was found stuffed in a sack in the Landhaura area of the district on Thursday. The police teams are investigating the matter in the district as well but the victim is yet to be identified, said the circle officer of police of the Manglaur area of the district, BC Chauhan. He said that the cause of death of the victim is still unknown as the police are yet to get the post-mortem report. The police on Thursday morning had recovered the body of a woman, aged between 50 to 60 years old, stuffed in a sack dumped outside a house in Landhaura. The locals informed the police that a couple who lived in a rented house nearby were vacating the house in a hurry and were shifting their house objects on to a tempo. During the shifting, they were also trying to put a heavy sack on to the tempo when it fell and some blood was reportedly visible which made some people suspicious. When people started raising their voices, the couple fled the scene and the people called the police to the spot. The CO said that they have identified both the suspects who belong to UP and have reportedly fled to the neighbouring State. “A police team has already been sent there to gather more evidence against the accused and nab them. We have also got to know that a woman who appeared to be in her early to mid 20s was also with the couple when they fled from Landhaura. We do not know if she was a victim or their accomplice. It will be clear only after we nab them,” said Chauhan. He also said that the police have not received any such clue so far that can help in determining the identity of the victim. “We hope to get all the answers after the accused are nabbed. They are expected to be arrested soon,” he added.
