Defence minister Rajnath Singh would visit Peethsain, in Pauri district on October 1 where he would participate in a programme organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of freedom fighter and hero of Peshawar revolt, Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali.
The health, higher education and cooperatives minister Dhan Singh Rawat said on Monday that the defence minister would visit the birthplace of Garhwali at Peethsain where he will unveil his statue. He said that the union minister would inaugurate Ghasiyari Kalyan Yojana under the aegis of Rath Vikas Authority. Rawat said Ghasyari Kits would be distributed to 25000 rural women on the occasion.
The kit would have two sickles, rope, farming equipment, water bottle and a bag. He said that the union minister would also distribute cheques of interest free loan up to Rs 5 Lakh to the women groups. The minister said that the state government is committed to the welfare of soldiers, dependents of martyrs and ex servicemen.
He said that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, union minister of state Ajay Bhatt, Garhwal MP and former CM Tirath Singh Rawat, BJP state president Madan Kaushik and others would attend the programme.
