Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has been implemented in Uttarakhand and he believes that every State of the country should take its benefit.
In an interview, the CM said on Thursday that an attempt was made to spread confusion on the subject of UCC. He said that the BJP had promised the people of Uttarakhand in the Assembly election of 2022 that it will implement UCC in the State and the people gave their mandate to the party. He said that Uttarakhand has become a Gangotri on UCC and the entire country will benefit from it.
The CM said that the Lok Sabha election of 2024 is an election between two ideologies. On one hand there is PM Modi who is working to make India advanced and on the other hand there is a coalition of parties whose primary objective is to save their own families. The people should decide what they want. The country has moved forward on the path of development, he said.
Launching into an attack on the Congress party, the CM said that the history of the Congress is replete with scams. Dhami said that everyone knows who has foisted emergency on the country so when Rahul Gandhi talks about dictatorship everyone laughs. He said that the action against encroachment in Uttarakhand was done as per the law but those engaging in politics of appeasement find flaws in the action.
