CM Dhami reviews ceremonial parade, says Home guard Jawans working with full dedication

The state government would provide an incentive of Rs 6000 for the Jawans of Home-guard who were deployed consistently in Covid duty during the pandemic. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made this declaration during the ceremonial parade organised on the occasion of the foundation day of the state home guards and civil defence at home guards headquarters here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion the CM said that the Jawans of home guards are working with full dedication and serving the people. He said that Home guards are ably assisting police in tackling emergency situations, maintaining social harmony and better coordination. Dhami added that the Jawans of the Home guard played a key role in Char Dham Yatra and performed exceptionally well during the Kumbh. He said that the number of Jawans of Home guards which is at present 6500 would be increased. The CM said that 25 per cent reservation for home guards in Group C posts would be given. He added that the state government is committed to all round development of the force.

Dhami reviewed the parade and felicitated the officers and Jawans of the force on the occasion. He handed over a cheque of Rs 2 Lakh to the wife of Home guard Jawan Roshan Singh who died while doing Covid duty. He also provided an assistance of Rs One Lakh to Home guard Jawan Raj Bahadur. The CM inaugurated the newly constructed hostel building at headquarter and district home guard office of Haridwar on the occasion.

The cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi, MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan, Director General (DG) police Ashok Kumar, GoC Uttarakhand Sub Area Major General Sanjiv Khatri and Commandant General Home guards Ajay Rautela and others were present on the occasion.
