In latest news from Dehradun, the task of having the Rishikesh-based IDPL Residential Colony vacated of its occupants is proving a tough one as those residing in this colony have been staging protest against the administration’s move for days. However, the district administration has taken a tough stand on the matter. The DM Sonika made the administration’s resolve clear when a delegation representing the residents of the colony met her. She told them categorically that the land housing the IDPL Colony no longer belongs to IDPL and so it must be vacated of its occupants to return the land to the department concerned. In view of the DM’s hardened stance, it can be presumed that the administration supported by police force is preparing to launch an operation to have the colony vacated.
