Guru Purnima was celebrated with fervour at Darbar Sahib on Wednesday.
Special prayers were offered and a special langar was organised on the occasion at Darbar Sahib on the day. A communiqué from the Darbar Sahib said, “ Thousands of Sangat devotees from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and other parts of the country reached Darbar Sahib on the day to ensure their presence at the sacred occasion.’’
Addressing the devotees on the occasion, Mahant Devendra Das said that Guru and mother are always complete in their divine roles. “The mother gives us birth while the Guru teaches us to lead a rightful life, that’s why he is called Param Guru,’’ he said. He also offered his obeisance to his own Guru Shri Mahant Indiresh Charan Das on the occasion.
The Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama also participated in the programme.
