STF arrests accused who paid Valmiki to kill two people

The Special Task Force (STF) and Dehradun police have arrested two men for allegedly paying the infamous criminal Narendra Valmiki to kill a couple at Manglaur in Haridwar. The accused had allegedly made a deal of Rs 10 lakh with Valmiki, who is currently in a Pauri jail, to kill the couple and had already paid him Rs four lakh in advance.

The police informed that the STF was monitoring the activities of Valmiki and his associates for the past few months. The police informed that they received the information of three shooters arriving in Dehradun on October 31 following which they were arrested near the Asharodi check-post the same day.  They confessed that they were called in here by a shooter Pankaj from Roorkee on the orders of Valmiki. The police said that the accused informed that Pankaj gave each of them a pistol and asked them to stay in Dehradun till he calls them to kill the said people in Haridwar.

The police identified the victims and soon located the two men who paid Valmiki to kill the couple. On Thursday, the police and SDRF teams arrested 45-year old Rajkumar Tyagi and 40-year-old Neeraj Tyagi from Manglaur. They revealed during the investigation that they wanted to kill the couple due to the matter of family honour, informed the police. The accused allegedly revealed that they contacted Valmiki through a mobile phone with a fake ID to talk about the contact to kill two people.

They paid Rs four lakh in advance to an associate of Valmiki and the rest of Rs six lakh were supposed to be paid after the killings, informed the police. The mobile used to contact Valmiki has been recovered and the accused will be presented in court soon.
