The incessant rainfall on the weekend has caused heavy damage to Sarkhet village in Raipur block and the nearby areas. The Dehradun district administration received the information of four people missing from the area till late Sunday evening. Considering the possibility of these people being buried under the debris, the district magistrate Sonika directed the additional district magistrate (ADM) KK Mishra to use Poclain machines to check and remove the bodies as part of the search operation. No dead body was recovered till late Sunday evening. The administration was also distributing relief materials to the affected locals.
Necessary machines have also been set up on various routes to smoothen the transportation on damaged roads. The team has also been working on making the drinking water and electricity supply smooth in the affected area soon. The city magistrate Kusum Chauhan, Tehsildar Sohan Singh along with police personnel were also present to carry out relief work in the area.
