The assistant regional transport officer (ARTO) conducted a surprise inspection of famous tourist destination Auli following complaints of unauthorised vehicle use on the slopes here on Monday. ARTO Jyoti Shankar Mishra arrived at Auli following the directions of the Chamoli district magistrate taking cognisance of complaints regarding unidentified persons using vehicles on the slopes of Auli. During her inspection the ARTO did not find any vehicles being used on the slopes. However, some vehicles were found parked on the roadside at Auli. The ARTO warned the vehicle owners that strict action will be taken if any person is found driving a vehicle on the slopes of Auli. In such cases, the vehicle will be seized and a case will be registered against the vehicle owner. She further directed that the vehicles parked on the roadside at Auli also be removed from the site.
