Chief secretary Sukhbir Singh Sandhu has directed officials concerned to step up execution of ropeway projects considering the time being taken for securing forest clearance, NH and other approvals for the projects. He said this while chairing a meeting to review the progress in ropeway construction works across the state here on Tuesday.

The chief secretary directed the officials to undertake a review of the projects on a daily basis. He said that survey by experts should be conducted for all the projects and those with higher footfall should be undertaken on a priority basis so that projects which are needed more can be completed on time. The chief secretary further directed officials to fix the date for completion of all tasks while preparing a work plan for the Mussoorie and Yamunotri ropeway projects. In order to ensure inter-departmental coordination, the projects should be uploaded on the Unnati portal so that the works and approvals can be expedited. If still some problem is being faced then a video conference should be organised at the chief secretary level so that the problem can be resolved, said Sandhu. Principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, secretary Dilip Jawalkar and other officials concerned were also present in the meeting.
