Haridwar Police has issued a QR code as an initiative for the convenience of the devotees arriving in the district during the Kanwad Yatra which will commence on July 3 and conclude on July 17. Information including parking system, route diversion and information about lost and found items among others will be available on a single platform, said the Haridwar senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh.

He said that the district police have also started sending hard and soft copies of QR codes to various districts of other states to raise awareness among pilgrims about it to ensure they get all relevant information easily during their pilgrimage. He said that traffic diversion is done frequently considering the crowd on routes during Yatra and pilgrims can know about all these updates by scanning the QR code. He said that people can also share and see the photos and videos shared by pilgrims during Yatra in the gallery. He said that pilgrims will also get the mobile numbers and information of all the important officers of the district via the QR code.

“The number of pilgrims is expected to increase this year and this is our initiative to make the pilgrimage hassle-free for all during their stay in Haridwar,” added SSP.
