ECI to setup webcasting facility in 5,892 polling stations in U’khand

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has made arrangements for webcasting in 5,892 polling stations out of 11,729 polling stations in Uttarakhand. The Additional Chief Electoral Officer (ACEO) Uttarakhand, Vijay Kumar Jogdande said that ECI has directed that arrangements for webcasting in 50 per cent of polling stations in the States should be done. He said that under the webcasting arrangement live streaming of the happenings in the polling stations will be made to the Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) concerned. Jogdande said that in case of any problem the presiding officer and the polling agents can directly interact with their ARO and send their complaint directly to the district level officers.

He informed that teams at district levels for webcasting have been constituted and the first phase of their training has also been completed. A control room at district level for webcasting will be set up and a control room at State level will be set up. In this control room arrangement of live streaming of all the five Lok Sabha constituencies will be made.  The ACEO said that arrangements for providing prompt medical service to all the personnel deployed in election duty in all the 11,729 polling stations have been made with the help of the health department. The benefit of cashless treatment will be provided to all the personnel deployed in election duty. A booth level health management plan has been prepared in which information about the nearest health centre is provided. 

Jogdande said that information about all the district hospitals, Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) will be provided to the polling parties. Information about the police and fire station, ambulance and helipad will also be provided to the polling parties where they can contact in case of any emergency.
