Cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat who had reportedly threatened to resign from the cabinet on Friday, praised chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and reiterated his support after dinner with the chief minister on Saturday night. Apart from talking to media persons, Rawat also praised Dhami in a video clip.

Talking to media persons, Rawat said that the government will soon act on establishment of Kotdwar medical college. The minister said that he had expressed his dissatisfaction with inaction in the matter of the Kotdwar medical college in the cabinet meeting. He said that irrespective of whether he contests the coming Assembly election from Kotdwar or not, it is necessary to fulfill promises made to the public. Citing the example of the government Doon medical college hospital, Rawat said that such facilities help people of various areas and not just the locals. He said that in the presence of Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat and BJP state president Madan Kaushik it was decided that the government medical college will be built in Kotdwar and Rs 25 crore would be released as the first installment for this work.

In a video clip, Rawat praised Dhami calling him his younger brother. Stating that he had known Dhami for decades, Rawat recalled that Dhami had always stood by him in difficult times whether he (Rawat) was in the Congress or BJP. Reiterating his support for Dhami, the cabinet minister said that his “blessing” is in favour of the BJP winning the Assembly election with a resounding majority under the leadership of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

It will be recalled that Rawat had stormed out of the cabinet meeting on Friday night after expressing dissatisfaction at the delay in concrete action for establishment of the medical college in Kotdwar.
