Covid-19- eight deaths, 510 new cases in U’khand

The state health department reported deaths of eight patients from Covid-19 in different parts of Uttarakhand on Friday. It also reported 510 new cases of the disease on the day. A total of 1,348 patients were declared cured from the disease on Friday.

The state health department has so far detected 87,787 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 78,093 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 225 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 88.96 per cent on Friday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 2.68 per cent on the day.  

The authorities reported the death of three patients at Kailash Hospital Dehradun on Friday while one patient each was reported dead at  Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital Dehradun, Mahant Indiresh hospital, Metro hospital Haridwar, Military hospital Roorkee and B C Joshi hospital (DRDO) Nainital on Friday.

 The health department reported 148 new patients from Dehradun, 85 from Almora, 45 from Haridwar and 44 from Pauri on Friday.

The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 6,697.  Dehradun with 3,481 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 974 active cases of the disease which is followed by Champawat district with 623 active cases. Bageshwar is at the bottom of the table with 45 active cases of the disease.  In the ongoing vaccination drive  30,350 people were vaccinated in 1241 sessions in the state held on Friday.
