Congress condemns MLA’s misdemeanour with MCD commissioner

The Congress has condemned the misbehaviour of BJP MLA Mahesh Singh Jeena with Dehradun municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar on Tuesday claiming that most of the BJP leaders are high on power and arrogance.

The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Mehra Dasauni said that no civil person living in a civil society uses the kind of language that the MLA used, especially while interacting with a public servant officer. She said that the BJP MLA abused and threatened the commissioner only because his son did not get the tender floated by MCD to dispose of legacy waste at the old trenching ground on Sahastradhara Road. She said that the project is worth nearly Rs 30 crore and the MLA lost his cool and reached the commissioner’s office to misbehave and threaten him just because his son was delisted from the tender process. “This shows not just his uncivil behaviour but the potential for corruption too. This shows how BJP leaders are using their power and position in the government to benefit their kin.

This condition has become worse in the State as the leaders are now openly abusing and threatening officials,” Dasauni added. She said that at least one objectionable video from BJP leaders goes viral on social media every month whether it is minister Prem Chand Aggarwal’s street fight with local men or several cases of BJP minister Ganesh Joshi since the Shaktiman incident. She said that sanitation workers have announced to go on strike due to MLA’s misdemeanour due to which the general public will have to suffer.
