Ahead of the voting in the five Lok Sabha constituencies of the State, the Uttarakhand Congress has expressed confidence that it will register an emphatic victory in all the seats in the State.
The chief media coordinator of State Congress Rajiv Mehrishi said the LS election 2024 has now become centred on the Ankita Bhandari, Agnipath scheme and Uttarakhandi pride and aspiration. He claimed that the trends show that the people are now not ready to tolerate the anti people policies of the State and Union governments.
Mehrishi said that the Modi government which plays the trumpet of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ rhetoric did nothing to address the pain of the hapless mother Ankita Bhandari.
He said that the career in the Army has remained the number one choice of youngsters but the Modi government has crushed their dreams by bringing in the Agnipath scheme. The recruitment in armed forces has now become a distant dream for the youngsters as the Modi government has closed all the doors. He said that there is anger in the youth against the Modi government for bringing Agnipath scheme which has snatched employment from them. He claimed that the anger of the youngsters will manifest on April 19 when they vote for the Congress candidates. He said that the Congress has assured that it will abolish the Agnipath scheme and review the old pattern of recruitment in the armed forces of the country. Mehrishi said that the BJP has handed over the resources of Uttarakhand to its rich friends. The BJP has created the traders of jobs like Hakam Singh by engineering scams in the recruitment examinations. He said that the BJP has made electoral bonds as a source of its income and the party has accepted donations from the company responsible for the tunnel mishap in Silkyara. The BJP made Gairsain the summer capital of Uttarakhand but it could not muster courage to conduct Vidhan Sabha session there. “The people of the State have understood the designs of BJP and they are eager to teach it a lesson on April 19, the day of voting.’’ he said.
