Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed that divisional officials should regularly sit in the divisional offices in Pauri. The Garhwal commissioner and Garhwal inspector general should also release a roster for sitting in the divisional office so that public grievances can be resolved at the divisional level.  Subordinate officials in departmental offices in the divisional headquarters should not be attached to other places. Dhami issued these directions while chairing a meeting to review steps taken for functioning of divisional offices in Pauri and the all round development of Pauri.

Stating that it is important to strengthen the divisional offices, the CM told officials to ensure that most public grievances are resolved at the divisional level. Considering the major responsibility of Garhwal divisional officials in the successful conduct of the Char Dham Yatra, the Garhwal commissioner should regularly review to ascertain if all arrangements for the Yatra are proper. Officials of technical departments, whose work area is Garhwal division should be regularly kept posted in the divisional headquarter. Dhami directed officials that those undertaking Char Dham Yatra should also be informed about other nearby pilgrimage and tourist sites. After the Char Dham Yatra the devotees should also be informed about the prominent religious and tourist sites in Kumaon region so that they can travel across the entire State. Special focus should be laid on strengthening the road connectivity, he stressed.

Dhami directed the Pauri district magistrate Ashish Chauhan to expedite work on the work plans made at the district level and to remain in touch with the departmental secretaries to ensure swift pace of works in the district. He said that a plan should also be prepared to connect Pauri by air.

Attending the meeting virtually, Chauhan informed in detail about the plan made for the development of Pauri. Stressing on the need for construction of the Premnagar, Gadoli, Buakhal bypass, he said that this will resolve traffic jams while also enabling Char Dham pilgrims to travel from the Kotdwar side. Two sites have been identified for the bus depot in Pauri, he informed. The district magistrate also informed about various other infrastructural and other development plans for the district. MLAs Renu Bisht, Rajkumar Pori, chief secretary SS Sandhu, additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan and other officials were also present in the meeting.
