Char Dham pilgrim numbers cross 25 lakh

More than 25 lakh people have visited the Char Dham shrines since the pilgrimage began in May. According to information provided by the Tourism department on Saturday, more than 25 lakh people have visited the Char Dham shrines so far. A total of 25,23,898 people have visited Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri temples.

According to official data, as on Saturday 3,36,362 people had visited Yamunotri, 4,36,077 had visited Gangotri, 8,42,958 had visited Kedarnath and 9,08,501 had visited Badrinath. Apart from the Char Dham shrines, 1,21,045 had visited the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara. Since the Char Dham Yatra began in May, 1,58,625 persons have availed of OPD services, 11,286 have accessed emergency services and 873 have sustained injuries.

Further, 622 persons were referred by ambulance and 43 were referred by helicopter to higher centres for treatment. A total of 3,94,968 people have undergone health screening out of which 4,557 have submitted undertakings to the authorities regarding carrying on with the pilgrimage despite health issues. Apart from these, 96 persons were sent back by the authorities due to serious health concerns.
