The Uttarakhand unit of Congress party has come in support of the agitating contractual workers of National Health Mission (NHM). The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh has said that the state government has shown apathetic attitude towards nine point demands of NHM workers which is unfortunate. He said that the demand of loyalty bonus of the workers is legitimate and as per the guidelines of government of India. He said that the objective of NHM was to provide health services in remote villages.

The PCC president added that it is unfortunate that on one hand that these workers were declared as Corona Warriors during the first wave of pandemic but now the government is not ready to even talk to them. He demanded that the state government should immediately initiate a dialogue with these workers so that the health services are not affected during the period of pandemic.
