Congress holds protest on irregularities in recruitment of Govt jobs

In protest against what is called large scale corruption in recruitment in the government jobs in Uttarakhand, the state unit of Congress party organised a secretariat march on Tuesday. The Congress leader and workers also sat on a Dharna outside the state secretariat on the day and submitted a memorandum directed to the governor demanding investigation into the gross irregularities that had occurred in the recruitment done by the public service commission, police and cooperatives departments. 

Leading the Congress protest, the president of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Karan Mahara said that the future of the youth in the state is in dark as they are not getting proper chances to get government jobs. He said that the incidents of the irregularities and corruption in the recruitment has made the youth frustrated and angry.

Mahara said that the Congress party demands that investigation in all the recruitments conducted recently by the UKSSC should be ordered and the process of normalisation should be dispensed with. He said that both the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission and UKSSC should release an annual calendar of the examinations.  

The leader of opposition (LoP) in the state assembly Yashpal Arya demanded immediate removal of the chairman and the secretary of the UKSSC.

The former PCC president Pritam Singh said that the Congress party would continue to fight and register its protest against gross irregularities in the recruitment process in the state.

The deputy leader of the Congress party in the state assembly Bhuwan Kapdi, MLA Adhesh Chauhan, former MLA Ranjit Rawat, general secretary organisation Vijay Saraswat and a large number of party workers and leaders were present in the protest.
