Paving the way for widening of the busy Adhat Bazaar- Gandhi Road in the heart of Dehradun, the state cabinet approved the proposal to transfer 7.7493 hectares of land in Brahmanwala area to Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA). The government intends to shift the shopkeepers of Adhat Bazaar in this land.
The stretch of road between Adat Bazar and the Railway station is 16 to 18 metres wide. The government wants to broaden this road to 24 metres in order to decongest the traffic on it. The cabinet also gave its nod to make amendments in the Uttarakhand Clinical Establishments ( registration and regulation) act 2015. It entails free registration for the clinical establishments with less than 50 beds. The state cabinet also approved a proposal to adopt the mental health upkeep act -2017 in Uttarakhand. This would help in regulation of drug rehabilitation centres operated in the State.
