Covid graph continues to rise, 310 new cases reported on Tuesday

The Covid-19 graph in Uttarakhand continued its upward movement with 310 new positive cases being reported in the state on Tuesday.  While 111 patients recovered, one death was reported from the infection on the same day. There are now a total of 654 active cases of Covid-19 in the state. The sample positivity on Tuesday was 1.95 per cent with a recovery percentage of 95.82. Meanwhile, the state cabinet is scheduled to meet on Wednesday evening and there is a possibility of some decisions being taken in it considering the consistently rising Covid cases in the state.

According to information provided by the Health department, out of the new cases reported on Tuesday, 192 are from Dehradun district, 34 from Pauri, 26 each from Haridwar and Nainital, 13 from Udham Singh Nagar, five each from Almora and Pithoragarh, two each from Bageshwar and Champawat, three from Tehri and one each from Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi.

When it comes to the number of active cases there are 337 in Dehradun district, 160 in Nainital, 53 in Udham Singh Nagar, 49 in Haridwar, 16 in Pithoragarh, 12 in Pauri, seven in Almora, six each in Bageshwar, Tehri and Champawat, and two in Uttarkashi.

Meanwhile, 1,30,813 beneficiaries were vaccinated in 1,264 sessions held on Tuesday. So far, 79,77,677 beneficiaries have been partially vaccinated and 64,64,463 have been fully vaccinated. While 48,04,920 beneficiaries  in the 18-44 years age group have been partially vaccinated, 37,52,422 have been fully vaccinated. A total of 1,32,751 beneficiaries in the 15-18 years age group have been partially vaccinated in the state so far. It is pertinent to mention here that the total cumulative positive Covid-19 cases detected in the state so far are 3,45,963 out of which 3,31,509 (95.82 per cent) have been cured. A total of 7,420 persons (2.15 per cent) have died from the infection in the state so far.
