Close on the heels of a record-setting second consecutive victory in the recent assembly elections, the Uttarakhand unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party celebrated the 42nd foundation day of the party in a grand manner. To commemorate the day the party organised programmes in all parts of the state. The BJP State president Madan Kaushik hoisted the party’s flag at the state headquarters of the party on Wednesday morning. Talking to the media persons, Kaushik said that the foundation day of the party was celebrated in all Mandals of the state. He said that in the morning the party workers hoisted flags at their residences. Kaushik said that it is a matter of great pride for every worker of BJP that the party is the largest political party of the world. Apart from being in power in the centre the BJP is in power in many states of the country. He asserted that the planning for Lok Sabha elections of 2024 has started. “ We have taken a pledge that the party candidates would secure bigger wins than the election of 2019 in all the five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand in the year 2024,’’ he said.
The party workers also listened to the address of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and national president of the party J P Nadda on the occasion. A programme to commemorate the day was organised at a farm house at the GMS Road in which the senior leaders of the party including the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took part.
Later a procession was taken out which culminated at the Clock Tower after passing through various localities. The procession was welcomed at many places and flower petals were showered over the CM Dhami and senior BJP leaders in it.
