School reopening influenced by vested interests: Parents

The parents of the students are continuing to be sceptical about the decision to reopen the schools. The parents expressed their apprehension during a meeting organised by the National Association for Parents and Students Rights (NAPSR) at Nehru Colony here on Tuesday. The president of the association, Arif Khan said that the government has succumbed to the pressure exerted by the private schools and reopened the schools. He said that detection of a Covid-19 infected student on the very first day in a school in Ranikhet shows that the threat from the disease persists. He said that the parents are apprehensive since the schools are not ready to accept the responsibility for the safety of the students. The NAPSR threatened that the parents would be forced to lock the schools if the students got infected with Covid-19 in the schools.
