Arjun Munda & Dhami inaugurate EMRS Fest

The Union ministry of tribal affairs in collaboration with the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) and the State Eklavya Vidyalaya Sangathan Samiti (EVSS) hosted the 4th edition of the EMRS National Cultural Fest at Maharana Pratap Sports College in Raipur. The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of the Union tribal affairs minister Arjun Munda, the  chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the State agriculture minister Subodh Uniyal and the Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’

In his address, Munda said that the students are being provided with ample opportunities for the past few years to showcase their talents and added that the national-level cultural festivals like this one are meant to spotlight talents, nurture creativity and empower to reach goals.

The CM said that Uttarakhand is home to five tribal communities namely Bhotia, Tharu, Jaunsaari, Buksha and Raji who embody the rich tribal culture of the region. He further said that this festival through its diverse competitions and cultural performances is going to serve as a beacon for the rich tribal heritage of the country in the coming years.  

During the occasion, a tribal parade was held during which the students representing various tribal communities showcased the vibrant and diverse tribal cultures of India.
