All arrangements made for AIIMS-Rishikesh convocation on Tuesday

Officials said that all arrangements have been made for the fourth convocation ceremony to be held at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh on April 23. President Droupadi Murmu will be the chief guest at the convocation to be held on Tuesday in which 598 medical students will receive degrees. The toppers will be awarded a total of 16 medals including 14 gold medals on the occasion.

Officials informed that along with the President as the chief guest, the Uttarakhand governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh and NITI Aayog member Vinod K Pal will be special guests at the convocation. The AIIMS Rishikesh executive director Dr Meenu Singh reviewed the preparations for the convocation ceremony and issued necessary instructions to officials on Sunday. Informing about the programme, she said that a total of 598 students will be awarded degrees in the convocation.

Among these students, 10 toppers have been chosen for gold medals. Some of these toppers will receive more than one gold medal. The programme will begin at 4 PM in the institute’s main auditorium. The executive director further said that all arrangements for the convocation have been made. Teams of various departments have been formed and different responsibilities have been accorded to them to ensure the successful organisation of the convocation programme, she added.
