She said that during the monsoon most of the time, her children often return home wet from school which sometimes leads to various illnesses like fever, cold and cough.

“During the monsoon, I try to make some healthful drinks for my children, which helps in preventing them from getting sick. But yes, the monsoon season is a bit challenging for the parents to protect their children from various illnesses,” said a parent, Radha Rawat.

Dr Tomar told this correspondent, “Viral fever, diarrohea and typhoid are some common illnesses which I have encountered during the ongoing monsoon season. I would suggest that the children should not remain in wet clothes during the monsoon. Apart from this children must make sure to drink boiled water during the rains.”

She further said that adding a soft diet will help the children to tackle the monsoon season effectively. She added that eating less fatty food during the monsoon will boost the children’s immunity. Adding some antiseptic solution to the water while taking a bath during monsoon will also help protect the children from infections, she added.
