Amidst the ongoing Char Dham Yatra and rising temperatures, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the officials to ensure supply of electricity and water at the Char Dham and across the State without disruption. Dhami told the Power secretary and UPCL managing director that the electricity demand and its supply is bound to rise considering the summer temperatures being experienced these days.  Necessary steps should be taken immediately to ensure supply of electricity to meet the increased demand without disruption. He further said that disruption in power supply also affects the supply of drinking water, causing inconvenience to the public. Considering this, it is essential to maintain continuous electricity supply.

The CM also directed the Drinking Water secretary to ensure all necessary measures to maintain the supply of water without disruption. All possible alternatives should be used to supply drinking water wherever any issues are being faced in facilitating the regular supply of water, he said.

It is pertinent to mention here that coupled with the ongoing Char Dham Yatra, the rising temperatures have resulted in a rise in the demand for electricity and water. The CM is regularly monitoring the situation to ensure proper management of the Char Dham Yatra and the essential systems in place for the public.
