831 found positive for Covid, 502 recover in the state on Friday

A total of 831 persons were found positive for Covid-19 while 502 patients recovered from the disease in the state on Friday. The deaths of 12 Covid positive patients were also reported in the state on the day.

According to information provided by the health department, with the 831 positive cases reported on Friday, the total number of active cases in the state has climbed up to 7,187 with the total number of deaths rising to 312. While the total number of cases in the state is 23,011, the number of recovered patients has also increased to 15,447. The doubling rate for Uttarakhand in the last seven days is currently 22.64 days while the recovery percentage for Covid-19 patients is 67.13 per cent.  Out of the total samples tested, 5.60 per cent samples tested positive in the state so far.

Of the positive cases reported on Friday, the maximum- 205 were from Dehradun district followed by 163 in Haridwar and 131 in Nainital. Among the other districts, 34 cases were reported from Almora, 10 from Bageshwar, three from Chamoli, 24 from Champawat, 85 from Pauri, 13 each from Pithoragarh and Rudraprayag, 76 from Tehri, 63 from Udham Singh Nagar and 11 from Uttarkashi. Dehradun district still has the highest number of active cases in the state with 1,679 cases followed by Udham Singh Nagar with 1,488 cases and Haridwar with 1,273 cases. Among the other districts, there are 292 active cases in Almora, 97 in Bageshwar, 70 in Chamoli, 167 in Champawat, 898 in Nainital, 262 in Pauri, 193 in Pithoragarh, 115 in Rudraprayag, 252 in Uttarkashi and 401 in Tehri. When it comes to containment zones, there are 11 in Dehradun district, 19 in Udham Singh Nagar, one each in Uttarkashi and Bageshwar, nine in Tehri, 299 in Haridwar, 25 in Nainital and three in Rudraprayag setting the total number of containment zones in the state at 368.
