The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Dehradun Police have nabbed two more accused in the fake doctors with forged degree case. Following the latest arrests, the police have arrested a total of 22 accused in the case so far and have formed three teams to nab all such fake doctors, said the circle officer of Nehru Colony, Anil Joshi. He said that the police arrested the 20th accused Asif Ansari (40) on Tuesday and two more accused Prakash Singh (41) and Masood Ahmad (34) on Wednesday for allegedly getting a forged degree from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Health Science in Karnataka.

After getting the forged degrees, the accused allegedly registered them in the Indian Medical Council in the State and got their registration certificate. He informed that the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Daleep Singh Kunwar had formed an SIT under the supervision of superintendent of police (crime) Sarvesh Panwar. He said that the police have so far arrested 22 accused in the case out of which 19 have been sent to jail. The police will gather more information from the three accused in the further investigation.

The CO said that the police are gathering concrete evidence in the case and have gathered information against several of such fake doctors, many of whom are currently absconding. He said that the SSP has formed three teams to nab all of them soon. It is pertinent to mention here that the main accused of doctors with forged degree case is Imlakh Khan who was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) from Ajmer in February this year but the case was later transferred to Dehradun police. Imlakh has been allegedly providing counterfeit degrees to many people for over a decade and some of whom are suspected to be working as government employees. The officials said that the police are working to identify such fake doctors along with all other culprits in the case.
