168 roads remain blocked across State

Though there was some respite from heavy rains on Thursday, a number of roads have remained blocked across the State causing disruption for locals and visitors. According to the State Emergency Operations Centre at least 168 roads were blocked in various parts of the State on Thursday evening.

In Uttarkashi district, the national highways to Gangotri and Yamunotri were open though one district road and five rural motor roads were blocked in the district. In Tehri district, the Rishikesh-Chamba-Dharasu national highway has been washed out near Bagaddhar while one national highway, three State highways, one main district road and 17 rural motor roads were blocked in the district.

In Rudraprayag district the national highway to Kedarnath was open though 16 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked while in Pauri district two State highways, one main district road and 15 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked. In Dehradun district three State highways, one main district road and 25 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked whereas five rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the Almora district.

One State highway and eight rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in Nainital district while one national highway and four rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in Bageshwar district. In Chamoli district the national highway to Badrinath was open though 38 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the district. Four rural motor roads were blocked in Champawat district while one road under the Border Roads Organisation and 13 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in Pithoragarh district.
