Yellow alert issued for Uttarakhand by IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert in two districts of Uttarakhand till December 21. According to the weather department, there is a possibility of a cold wave and dense fog in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar. The weather is expected to remain dry. A yellow weather alert is issued when there are signs of extremely bad weather. People are asked to be alert to interfere with daily activities as such alerts are also issued during floods or heavy rains. The hill states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand have been receiving heavy snowfall for the past several days. Snowfall has brought the temperature near zero degrees in many areas of Uttarakhand like Mussoorie, Pithoragarh.
