Work in mission mode, Kumar tells NHM employees

The secretary in-charge of the health department and the mission director (MD) of the National Health Mission (NHM), R Rajesh Kumar has said exhorted the employees of NHM to work in mission mode to fulfil the objectives of the department.

Interacting with the officers and employees of the NHM on Friday, the health secretary said that Uttarakhand is faring well in the health sector. He said that in many health indicators the performance of the State is exceptional. He said that Uttarakhand stood second in the country in holding the blood donation camps and activities of the Nikshay Mitras in the Anti TB campaign. Kumar said that people are getting information related to health at their homes by the help of Telemedicine. He said that as per the National Family Health Survey -V, the state has witnessed an increase of 20 per cent in the regular vaccination and in the field of immunisation the Measles and Rubella are on the path of getting eliminated in the State. The MD of NHM informed that a total of six lakh people availed the health services in 1400 wellness centres. The NHM is providing dialysis facilities to the general public through 18 dialysis centres. The infant mortality rate is decreasing in Uttarakhand and the health department is providing 266 types of tests free of cost.

 Interacting with the employees, the secretary in-charge discussed Telemedicine, 104 service, vaccination, TB eradication, mother and child health and others. The NHM director Dr Saroj Naithani, programme officer Dr Ajay Nagarkar, Dr Sujata Singh, Dr Kuldeep Martolia, Dr Fariduzaffar, Dr Archana Ojha and others attended the deliberations
