In latest Uttarakhand news, a school bus carrying students of Christ Academy School headed towards Gopeshwar caught fire near Haldapani. As the bus was engulfed in smoke the children started screaming. The police sub-inspector Karnaprayag rushed to the site and rescued all the 30 children, trapped in the smoke-filled bus, safe and sound. The driver of the bus was taken to the police station. Besides, police asked the owner of the bus and the school management representatives to come to the police station. Meanwhile, SP Chamoli Pramendra Dobhal ordered police department to conduct regular checking drives to ensure that the school buses carrying children are equipped with all facilities.
