In latest Dehradun news, the State administration, in a major move, has issued notification for recruiting women home guards for 330 posts. With this, decks have been cleared for their prompt appointment. Sources in the know informed that the recruitment process may start in August. So, it is time for the women of the State interested in these posts to apply. Notably, right now, about 6500 home guards, including some women home guards, are working in a number of departments along with the police department in the State, Now, efforts to recruit women in the vacant home guard posts reserved for women, have gained pace. Mention worthy, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had announced in December last about the recruitment of women home guards. Thereafter, the State administration decided to recruit women home guards in Udham Singh Nagar, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pauri, Uttarkashi and Tehri districts.
