According to sources, Amtoli village resident Munni Devi (52) had gone to the jungle to graze her cattle on Saturday afternoon. A tiger attacked her and inflicted a number of wounds with its claws on her body. She suffered wounds on her legs and thighs. Kota range officer RAmesh Chand Dhayni reached the site along with department personnel on being informed about the incident. The injured woman was taken to the government hospital for treatment. According to sources, the tiger left the woman after she started screaming. Meanwhile, Dhyani alerted the local residents and told them to not venture into the forest. Patrolling by departmental teams has been stepped up in the area of the incident.

It will be recalled that on July 16, a man riding pillion on a motorcycle on national highway 309 near Mohaan was attacked by a tiger which had dragged him into the jungle.
