Warning- thunderstorms with intense spells of rain likely today

Rainy weather continued in various parts of the State on Thursday with similar weather likely to be witnessed on Friday. The State Meteorological Centre issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense spells of rain/gusty wind (40-50 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Dehradun and Nainital districts on Friday.
Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/gusty wind (40-50 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of the State. Apart from this, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places in the mountain districts and very light to light rain is likely to occur at isolated places in the plain districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain/thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/gusty wind (40-50 kmph) are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 35 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was reported in various parts of the State on Thursday with 34.2 millimetres in Jolly Grant, 10.2 millimetres in Mukteshwar, 1.2 millimetre in Mussoorie and trace rain in Dehradun. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 34.9 degrees Celsius and 21`.7 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.6 degrees Celsius and 20.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.8 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 23.3 degrees Celsius and 13.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
