Bengalis enthusiastic to visit U’khand post Covid

Uttarakhand Tourism department officials interacted with major travel agents and tour operators of various north eastern states during the travel and tourism fair 2021 which concluded in Kolkata on Sunday. The people of West Bengal were also invited to Uttarakhand for the Char Dham Yatra and summer tourism.

The Tourism secretary Dilip Jawalkar informed that the state government is committed to reviving the state’s tourism industry after the Covid pandemic. To achieve this, the tourism department is participating in the major travel marts and exhibitions across the nation. The state government participates in such events along with stakeholders in the tourism sector. At the event in Kolkata, Uttarakhand Tourism public relations officer Kamal Kishore Joshi represented the state. He said that Uttarakhand is a favoured destination for tourists from West Bengal.  There is considerable enthusiasm among Bengalis to visit Uttarakhand after the Covid period.
