Vital to remain connected with native village- Speaker

Vidhan Sabha speaker Ritu Khanduri said that people should not forget or become disconnected from their village, heritage and ancestors while also preserving their traditional values and culture. She was speaking at a four-day meet organised at Jhatri village in Duggada which is being attended by 100 families of natives living in different parts of the nation. Khanduri appreciated the organisers of the event and said that such programmes in the village gives the people a sense of their native culture. She said that people had realised the importance of their villages during the Covid-19 pandemic. The speaker further said that with people from Uttarakhand making a mark for themselves in various fields, it is important for them to stay connected with their villages. She appealed to the gathering to contribute to the development of the village and area by using technology and vision. The event organisers and local public representatives were also among those present on the occasion.
