A video in which the speaker of Uttarakhand Assembly Ritu Khanduri is seen arguing with and reprimanding a person who purportedly is a secretary in the State administration has given ammunition to the Uttarakhand Congress to attack the BJP government. In the viral video a visibly angry Khanduri is scolding the officer and asking him to stop the blame game over the bridge over Malan river that collapsed in Kotdwar on Thursday.
Taking potshots at the BJP government, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara said the video is clear evidence that the State government is a mining loving government. He said that the video proves that the mining mafia is ruling the roost in the State. Mahara said that Khanduri is stating that she has drawn attention of the Public Works Department (PWD) and mining department on the condition of bridges in her assembly segment many times but nothing was done by the State administration.
Mahara said that it is a matter of great concern for the State that even after the reprimand by the High Court on the incidence of collapse of Bridge in Raipur, the Dhami government took no lesson and it failed to rein in the mining mafia.
He claimed that the illegal mining is getting patronised by the State government and people associated with BJP are involved in large scale illegal mining in the State.
He claimed that the mafia has weakened the foundation of all bridges in the State. The PCC president added that the video proves that the Dhami government is paying no heed to the requests and demands of its own MLAs and leaders.
