Vigilance action: Bageshwar’s soldier welfare officer dismissed

In latest news from Doon, the Bageshwar district soldier welfare officer, Subodh Shukla has been dismissed for his alleged involvement in corrupt practices.  Notably, he had been caught red-handed while demanding Rs 50,000 from an employee in exchange for service extension by the Vigilance. It was followed by the State Soldier Welfare minister Ganesh Joshi having directed the secretary of Soldier Welfare department to immediately dismiss him from service.  Thereafter, the dismissal order was issued.

Defending the action, Joshi said that the State government is fully committed to protecting the interests of ex-servicemen and their families.
