The Uttarakhand Vidyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) started the online registration process on Friday for the result improvement examination for classes X and XII for the year 2025. Notably, on April 19, UVSP released the results for the classes X and XII board examinations. This year in class X, 90.77 per cent of students passed, with a passing rate of 88.20 per cent for boys and 93.25 per cent for girls. In class XII, 83.23 per cent of students cleared the exam, with boys achieving a passing percentage of 80.10 and girls reaching 86.20.
UVSP secretary Vinod Simalti said that the UVSP offers students who did not score well an opportunity to improve their marks. The registration for the result improvement examination started on Friday. It’s important to note that this examination is available not only for students of 2025 but also for those of 2024. Simalti said that the UVSP provides students with three opportunities to retake the exam for improvement.
Specifically, students of the 2024 session will be applying for the improvement examination for the third time this year, while 2025 students will be applying for it for the first time. He said that students in class X who have not passed in two subjects are required to take improvement examinations, while those in class XII who have failed in one subject will also be expected to participate in improvement exams. Students may submit their registration forms and fees for the improvement exams at their school until May 17, while the school’s last date for filling out the online registration form for the said examination is May 21.
It will be recalled that earlier, Simalti informed that there has been a noticeable improvement in student results this time. Before the start of the board examinations, teachers received training with model test papers and subsequently provided their students with guidance based on this training. This initiative has contributed to an increase in the pass percentage of students in the year 2025.
