Uttarakhand will get its first Vande Bharat Express on Thursday which will operate between Dehradun railway station to Anand Vihar railway station in Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to virtually inaugurate the Express. The union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will also be present in the inaugural ceremony of the Express at Dehradun railway station on Thursday, said the station superintendent of Dehradun railway station, Shashank Sharma. The Express is scheduled to depart from Dehradun at 11 AM.
The Railways on Wednesday also announced the fare of the Express on various routes. As per the Railways, the fare of Vande Bharat Express– DDN-ANVT (22458) from Dehradun railway station to Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi for executive class (EC) coaches and chair car (CC) coaches are Rs 1,695 and Rs 900 respectively. The fare for ANVT-DDN (22457) for EC and CC coaches are Rs 1,890 and Rs 1,065 respectively. The fares include morning tea and breakfast for DDN-ANVT (22458) and evening tea and dinner for ANVT-DDN (22457), as per the Railway officials. They said that the Express will cover the distance between Dehradun and Delhi in four hours and thirty minutes and will be the fastest option on the rail route.
The eight-coach Express will pass through Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Roorkee, and Haridwar. Railways officials also announced some of the special features of Vande Bharat. According to them, a self-made armour system is fitted in the Express as a safety measure against accidents and collisions to make each journey safe. The fire detection and control system is also installed to prevent fire accidents on the train. The train is also equipped with a GPS based Audio Visual Passenger Information System. The train is self-propelled and does not require connecting engines separately. The officials said that a successful trial of Express was conducted on Tuesday that has assured them of its successful run on all routes, said the officials
