Uttarakhand Board class X exams cancelled, class XII exams deferred

Decision taken by State government considering Covid surge

Considering the surge in Covid-19 cases, the state government has decided to cancel the Uttarakhand board class X exams while postponing the class XII exams. The State’s Education minister Arvind Pandey informed about this development on Sunday. According to officials, the final decision in this matter was taken at the level of the chief minister and education minister. While class X students will be considered pass on the basis of their past performance, the new examination schedule for class XII students will be announced after the situation normalises and bit.

It will be recalled here that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has already cancelled the board examination of Class X and deferred the examination of the class XII this year but till some days ago, the Uttarakhand board was planning the hold class X and XII exams from May 4. There are more than 2.72 lakh students who are registered in classes X and XII of the Uttarakhand board.
