CM orders police to remain vigilant on Holi

Ensure tradition of peaceful and joyous celebration of Holi is maintained: Dhami

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the Home and police departments to lay special focus on the law and order situation in view of the Holi festival. He directed the police to make effective arrangements for Holi with special vigilance to be observed in districts along the State’s borders. The CM issued these directions while chairing a meeting with officials of Home and Police departments on Friday.

Dhami directed the director general of police Ashok Kumar to conduct a review of the preparations for this with the senior superintendents of police of all the districts. The CM said that the police officers should ensure that there is no disorder or undesirable incident in the State on the occasion of Holi, stressing that no type of disorder will be tolerated. He directed the police department to complete its preparations to prevent any untoward incident and maintain the law and order situation on the occasion of Holi. The police should constantly monitor the situation and special focus should be kept on anti-social and dubious elements. The tradition of celebrating the festival of Holi in a peaceful, cordial and joyful atmosphere should be maintained, said the CM. Additional chief secretary Radha Raturi and DGP Ashok Kumar among others were present in the meeting.
