Acting on its commitment to environmental consciousness, UPES hosted a panel discussion on protecting a fragile ecosystem recently in its campus. The organisers claimed that the event had served as a platform to address critical concerns surrounding environmental sustainability and climate change in the Himalayan region. The panellists included the retired scientist from Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, SK Bartaya, the executive director at Centre for Ecology Development and Research, Dehradun, Vishal Singh and the professor and head at School of Environment and Natural Resources, Doon University Kusum Arunachalam. The discussion was moderated by the head of Sustainability Cluster, School of Advanced Engineering, UPES Manish Kumar.
During the discussion, the panellists emphasised on the pressing need to promote entrepreneurship with a focus on addressing local issues and providing innovative solutions, the UPES office- bearers said.
