U’khand stands first in CCTNS progress dashboard ranking

The Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) of Uttarakhand Police have been ranked first in the National Crime Records Bureau’s monthly ranking of mountainous states for May 2023 and third in the country. The officials said that the Uttarakhand Police has secured the first position by getting full marks in various parameters.

In the currently released rankings, the State secured the first position by scoring 97.44 per cent marks, Himachal Pradesh secured the second position with 96.15 per cent and Arunachal Pradesh got the third position with 90.67 per cent marks. Besides this, Mizoram and Tripura secured fourth and fifth positions with 88.06 per cent and 76.77 per cent respectively among the mountainous states.  The CCTNS aims at creating a comprehensive and integrated system for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of policing through adopting the principle of e-Governance.

It focuses on the creation of a nationwide networking infrastructure for the evolution of an IT-enabled-state-of-the-art tracking system around the investigation of crime and detection of criminals, as per the officials. The Director General of Police,  Ashok Kumar congratulated the entire team of CCTNS for this achievement on Wednesday and asked them to keep working efficiently
