U’khand receives JRD Tata memorial award for health services

The State’s Health department was awarded with the prestigious JRD Tata memorial award in a ceremony held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi  on Monday . The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat received the award on the behalf of the department. The award was given to the State Health department for better performance in 42 different indicators of health. A sum of Rs five lakh and a citation was presented to Rawat by the chairperson of Tata Sons, Natrajan Chandrashekhar. 

Speaking on the occasion Rawat said that the award will boost the morale of the employees of the Health department and infuse them with a new energy. He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the State government is providing better health facilities to the general public. Rawat said that the Uttarakhand government is committed to strengthening and extension of the health services in the State. The government organises ‘chintan shivirs’ from time to time to receive feedback, suggestions and complaints from the general public, he added.
