U’khand left disappointed by PM Modi- Congress

Friday 08, 2021 | PNS | Dehradun

The Uttarakhand Congress has said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed the aspiration of the people of Uttarakhand by giving nothing to the state during his visit to Rishikesh.  The spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni said that the people of the state who had given a huge mandate to the BJP in the elections were hoping that PM would honour the state with green bonus in lieu of the environmental services provided by Uttarakhand to the rest of the country but no such thing was said by the PM.  She said that the Congress party has demanded that the PM should provide a package of Rs 50,000 crore to Uttarakhand.

Taking a swipe at the PM, Dasauni said that though the programme was organised at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh premises, the director of the institute was not allowed to sit on the dais with the PM. She added that Modi in speech made no mention of the great service rendered by the doctors of the AIIMS- Rishikesh during the pandemic of Covid-19. Dasauni said that neglect of AIIMS- Rishikesh director and the doctors is an insult of their valuable and selfless service and proves that garnering political mileage was the only objective of the PM.
